Primitive Paradox
Inspired by neurological disruptions in the brain, this collection is a reflection of the intense, rapid transitions of emotion that come with heightened sensory experiences. I drew from my own raw emotions, which I documented over a three-month period through expressive drawings and paintings. These personal records became the foundation of the collection and shaped its identity as "raw and primitive." To reflect the fragility of the concept, I chose to work with humble, hand-engineered textile techniques.
The collection is entirely hand-dyed and made from natural fabrics such as pashmina silk, linen, and cotton. I deconstructed and transformed these materials through hand painting, pleating, gathering, slashing, and fraying. Each process mirrors the emotional turbulence and vulnerability I experienced throughout the journey.
